Martial Arts Training
WITH COACH THOMAS KEENAN
Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), also known as the "gentle art", is a martial art centered around ground fighting. The goal is to submit your opponent utilizing leverage, joint-locks, and chokeholds instead of the traditional striking techniques of other martial arts fighting styles.
No Gi Jiu-Jitsu
No Gi BJJ employs the same techniques as Gi BJJ, but is done without wearing the traditional uniform. Instead, grappling shorts and a rash gaurd or t-shirt are worn.
Striking/MMA
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a combat sport that combines techniques from several fighting styles, such as Muay Thai, wrestling, and boxing. Striking, a key component of MMA, focuses specifically on punching and kicking.
Youth/Teen Jiu-Jitsu
The youth program focuses on teaching the basic fundamentals of BJJ, while also instilling the values of confidence, sportsmanship, and hard-work. BJJ techniques are also supplemented with games and drills to improve overall coordination and critical thinking skills.
